Each year, as seven members of the Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee finish their three-year terms, the NPC adds seven new members to its ranks. Each represents one of Bronxville’s seven election districts. Here are the new members for 2016-17.
Larry and his wife, Susan, have lived in Bronxville since 1997. They have three children: all attend Bronxville High School.
Larry states: “Having been a member of the Bronxville community for nearly 20 years, and with three children who have had the great fortune to attend the Bronxville school system, our family has been the beneficiary of the tremendous efforts of the Bronxville School Board, and the NPC which has been instrumental in finding, vetting, and recommending its talented and selfless members. As my children are on the last leg of their journey through this great institution, I would like to give back some of my time and experience to the community that has provided so many advantages to my family.”
Larry is currently a Director at TD Ameritrade. He attended Rensselaer Polytechnic University and received his MBA from Harvard University. As a 25 year veteran of Venture Capital and Private Equity investing, Larry has significant experience working on Boards of Directors requiring strategic planning, executive recruiting, and working in collegial fashion with others to achieve positive outcomes for each organization. Larry has served in executive officer positions at the Community Fund where he ran several committees, including the Investment Committee.
Andrew was raised in Bronxville and attended The Bronxville School K-9. Since 1996, Andrew and his wife, Kristin, have lived in Bronxville. They have three children: two attend Bronxville HS and one attends Bronxville MS.
Andrew states his reasons to be part of the NPC: “Help find the best candidates to build upon the value of our school. I grew up in Bronxville and believe a long term perspective is integral to maintaining and improving our town’s most important asset. Also, I would enjoy seeing a greater emphasis be placed on smaller classrooms, more teachers, writing, and the arts and sciences.”
Currently, Andrew is a high yield salesperson with Stifel Nicolaus. Throughout his 25-year career in finance, Andrew has served as manager, salesperson and liaison between research analysts and credit derivatives. Andrew received his B.A. in Economics from Davidson College and his MBA from Columbia University. Also, he attended Deerfield Academy. Andrew has coached both baseball and lacrosse, and he has been active in helping to choose deacons at The Reformed Church.
Courtney and her husband, William, have lived in Bronxville since 2010. They have two children: one in Bronxville Kindergarten and one in Bronxville Elementary School.
Courtney states: “I want to participate in the support of the ever-changing needs of the student body, faculty, and school community. In addition, I want to help in supporting our joint commitment between community and education, which is particularly important in our changing world.”
Courtney attended Lafayette College where she received her B.A. in American Studies. Courtney has been a US history teacher, academic advisor, dorm parent, coach, and Assistant Director of Admission at The Cheshire Academy. In addition, Courtney spent 7+ years in marketing, sales and event planning for bulge bracket wealth management businesses. Courtney has volunteered at SFNS, RCNS, and in the Bronxville Elementary School, and she is an assistant coach for the BYLA Girls Kindergarten team.
Jim and his wife, Lisa, have lived in Bronxville since 2006. They have three children: one graduated from Bronxville HS and two currently in Bronxville High School.
Jim states: “My experience at managing a well-regarded Trusts & Estates law firm and building a substantial client base for the last 20 years should be helpful on the Non-Partisan Committee. Also, I would like to have input in the direction of the election of the Bronxville School Board of Trustees.”
Jim is a Managing Partner at Fulton Vittoria LLP. Jim received his B.S. in History and Business at Muskingum University, and his J.D. from Wake Forest University. Jim sits on the boards of numerous charitable organizations, including including The LeRoy Neiman Foundation, the William S. Perper Foundation, and The Arthur and Phyllis Milton Foundation, and he also founded and managed the Bronxville Football Club.
Lindy and her husband, Bob, have lived in Bronxville since 2012. They have three children: one in Bronxville Elementary School, one in Bronxville Kindergarten, and one in Eliza Corwin Frost preschool.
Lindy states: “Because I have young children in the school, I am deeply invested in making sure the school continues to thrive for years to come. I view the NPC as an opportunity to influence the composition of the school board that we all entrust to make good decisions about the school, and to ensure that the board represents the diversity of views across our community.”
Lindy is an independent communications consultant. Lindley received her B.A. and graduated Cum Laude from Duke University. Lindy has served as Co-Chair of the Eliza Corwin Frost Parent Committee from 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.
Charlotte is a current Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee member after being elected last year to fill a one-year term.
Charlotte and her husband, Peter, have lived in Bronxville since 1993. They have four children: one who graduated from Bronxville High School, one in Bronxville High School, and two in Bronxville Middle School.
Charlotte states: “I have lived in Bronxville for over 20 years, and have 15 years’ experience with the Bronxville Schools. I am familiar with the Elementary, Middle and High Schools. I would like to contribute my insight and help the NPC nominate the best possible candidates to run for the School Board.”
Charlotte managed Gramatan Medical Services, an orthopedic practice, for over 20 years. Currently, Charlotte serves on the Bronxville High School Council, Performing Arts Committee, and Class of 2016 Hospitality Committee. She has also chaired the Bronxville Fun Run. Charlotte attended Princeton Day School, before receiving her Bachelors of Science at Ithaca College.
Don is a current Bronxville Non-Partisan Committee member after being elected last year to fill a one-year term.
Don and his wife, Emily, have lived in Bronxville since 2013. They have two children in kindergarten at Bronxville Elementary School.
Don states: “I have been involved in serving my communities and my country for my entire adult life. My children are getting to an age where I can look at opportunities that afford me the chance to contribute to the Village of Bronxville. I am confident that with the experiences I have been blessed with, and the skills I have honed over a lifetime, that I can contribute to the NPC and to the Bronxville School in particular. I know it is a privilege to serve as a member of the NPC and I would look forward to being a part of this volunteer organization that serves the Bronxville community in such a unique way.”
Don, who currently works at United Airlines, served in the Navy for 22 years. During his naval career, Don was an instructor at the Navy Fighter Weapons School, commanded an F-14 Squadron, and deployed aboard aircraft carriers. Don attended the Naval Academy, and received his Masters in Science from USC.
